Altius began in 1971 as a small family business in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. With just three machines purchased through a $20,000 signature loan, we set out to make our mark in cold-headed and threaded fasteners. Word spread quickly — not because of size or scale, but because of an unwavering reputation for quality and reliability.

As global competition intensified, Altius reimagined what manufacturing could be. By introducing new technologies and processes at our facilities, we built a model that significantly increased production while driving down costs — all without compromising quality.
We were also among the first North American manufacturers to establish operations in Asia, creating a blended global footprint that paired U.S.-based manufacturing strength with international reach.
Beyond the factory floor, we reshaped traditional supply chains by developing cost-reduction programs and pioneering warehousing, distribution and logistics capabilities. The result was a new model of efficiency and value — one that continues to power our growth and deliver lasting advantages to our customers.
